Apollo 11 Spaceflight

Function: Art Direction, Web Design & Web Development

APOLLO 11 is an immersive storytelling experience that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission and the historic moonwalk by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. The experience, designed and developed for Scientific American, includes a scrolling slideshow of historic photos, video, and sound. The site serves as a companion to a series of feature stories that appear in Scientific American Magazine and is an online introduction to a six-article report that looks back on this epic adventure. The project required that I work with the editors and photo director from Scientific American, design wireframes for both mobile and desktop platforms, full front end web development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), work with the Scientific American Accessibility team to develop a product fully accessible for people with disabilities, and all cross browser testing.
